Event description
In An Uneven Mind, playwright, actor, director, and Arizona Theatre Matters Founding Artistic Director Jeanmarie Simpson draws on more than fifty years in theatre and her lived experience to explore uneven cognition, trauma, creativity, and accessibility. Through an intimate autoethnographic performance, Simpson considers the space between visible competence and invisible struggle—and how theatre can give shape to experiences that resist ordinary language. Following the performance, Rosemarie Dombrowski, humanities scholar, professor, and Poet Laureate of Phoenix, will join Simpson for a conversation exploring how we might create spaces where different kinds of minds can participate, create, and belong.
All events at the Glendale Public Library are public, and participants may be photographed by the media and/or City staff for future print and/or online publication.
