The O'Neil Recreation Center offers a free, accredited drop-in Afterschool Program for youth ages 6-14 (grades 1-8) that provides supervised recreational activities, crafts, games, sports, clubs, homework help, and special events. This is a Non-Licensed program and will run from August 2026 through May 2027, Monday through Friday. Daily meals from St. Mary's Food Bank will be provided to participants and any other youth in the community.
Participants must attend program at least three times per week (on average) to maintain their place in the program.
We work in partnership with the Glendale Elementary School District, and follow their school release schedule. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday program hours are 3:15pm until 6:00pm. On Wednesdays, we will be open from 12:15pm until 6:00pm. For families that attend Don Mensendick and William C. Jack schools, staff will pick up participants at a designated spot at the school and escort them to the Center.
Our accreditation is through the Arizona Center for Afterschool Excellence and denotes that our program meets quality standards.
