Event description
In this talk, participants will learn about Emily Dickinson’s poetic production during the Civil War, read/discuss 2-3 poems that reflect on victory/loss/wounds, and discuss the poems as commentaries on war and/or as explorations of Dickinson’s patriotism.
Registration is not required.
The NEA Big Read is a grant-funded program brought to Arizona in partnership with Arizona Humanities, Arts Midwest, and The National Endowment for the Arts.
All events at the Glendale Public Library are public, and participants may be photographed by the media and/or City staff for future print and/or online publication.
